WASHINGTON - The Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) of World War II were honored with the Congressional Gold Medal during a ceremony today in Emancipation Hall at the Capitol Visitor Center.  Both surviving members of the WASP, as well as representatives of deceased members of the organization, participated in the ceremony.  The medal, presented by the Congressional leadership, honors WASP members for their pioneering military service that led to reform in the U.S. Armed Forces.

WASHINGTON - The United States Mint is seeking applicants for appointment to the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee (CCAC).  The term of one CCAC member will expire in March 2010.  The new member would represent the interests of the general public.  The application deadline is March 31, 2010.  The United States Mint will review all applications and will forward recommendations to the Secretary of the Treasury for appointment consideration.

WASHINGTON - The United States Mint today announced that it will begin accepting orders for the 2010 American Veterans Disabled for Life Silver Dollar beginning at noon Eastern Time (ET) on February 25, 2010.

MORAVIA, N.Y. - The United States Mint today released into circulation the newest Presidential $1 Coin.  The coin bears the portrait of the Nation's 13th President, Millard Fillmore.  United States Mint Deputy Director Andy Brunhart officially introduced the coin in a ceremony in Moravia, New York, at Moravia Central School.

WASHINGTON - On February 18, 2010, the United States Mint will release to the Federal Reserve Banks the first new Presidential $1 Coin of 2010, honoring former President Millard Fillmore.  Beginning at noon Eastern Time (ET) the same day, the agency also will accept orders for rolls of Millard Fillmore Presidential $1 Coins at its online catalog, http://www.usmint.gov/catalog.  Each roll, priced at $35.95, contains 25 circulating quality $1 coins from either the United States Mint at Philadelphia or Denver.  The coins are wrapped in specially designed packaging that displays the mint of origin (P or D), the face value of the contents ($25) and the genuine United States Mint logo.
