Having back issues of my favorite scholarly numismatic magazine available on-line is a great research tool. This feature also alleviates the necessity for me to keep all my magazines (my wife likes this benefit). With this said, I really want to hold my magazine in my hands. I find that I don't read on-line articles, I skim them. Also, I don’t have a lap-top, so I can’t curl up on the couch with my The Numismatist. I am also unable to take my magazine into what my family euphemistically calls my library.

I work for a printing company in Ky. We print and mail millions of magazines monthly, and I constantly hear from the younger employees that we're on our way out, because of the computer. I (try) to explain to these geniuses what you guys have just stated, but, what does an old man know?
I know what the young collector is thinking, and NO!!, a laptop is not the answer.

I prefer the good old fashion publication, I tend to read cover to cover verses skimming on the net.(in a power outage you have both entertainment and fuel for heat)

This past year I changed my membership to the ANA to include an on-line (only) subscription to The Numismatist. I thought that since I am on my PC often anyway, that I would enjoy my magazine this way. Well, I was wrong. Maybe I’m too old to change, but I often don’t even read my The Numismatist. Maybe it’s just a case of ‘out of sight out of mind’ or perhaps I am the kind of reader that reads a paragraph, puts it down then reads another, either way I am not enjoying myself.
